"He was stalking me so I took pity on him." It was some version of the truth. Xue Yang propped his chin up on Meng Yao's head, since he was keeping it awkwardly ducked anyway.

"And never respectful to your elders," Jonathan commented, trying to get a better look at Meng Yao's face still. "Why don't you go dancing, before you say something hurtful? Puppy, you should go too. You need to burn off some alcohol."
"He wants to be rid of you," Chenglei teased, "They probably want grown-up talk. Taxes and what not." That said, he got to his feet. "I think I've spotted my friend, so I'll be back later."
