When he said lass, Jonathan was ready to take it as him reading into things. He did that, he knew he did that - what gay man didn't. But the lad was all he needed to hear to know that his instincts were correct. He had trouble with his lot, they'd never accept it in him and he represented too much of the community to ever be 'out'. It was that denial that made it appealing, almost taboo. The urge to act on it even now was there.

"You gonna play here all week?"
