Jon was someone who never liked to work with people who didn't trust him as much as he trusted them and as Tally expressed his doubt, Jonathan fired him. Perhaps not the smartest move he could have made but it was the one he made. He did have a bad habit of reacting negatively and letting his emotions take over but not to sodding murder a politician of all people.

By the time Gene came back, Tally was packing up. "He fired me so he's all yours. Good luck, Jonny."

"Ah, fuck off." Jon called out as Tally shrugged, knowing he had to go to call Barty ASAP because if he wasn't willing to let him help, he needed Barty to. As Tally left, Jonathan looked at Gene. "I'm being stitched up, you dick. Isn't it obvious?"
